BACKGROUND
Before it became a modular piece of Briqs, Donations (Lenio) already had a rough flow that we had worked on and branded for different banking apps. It was only when it was made part of Briqs did we start to shape it better together with the design team.

We did user reseach while we were developing the user experience and as we were getting more information regarding potential users and their needs and patterns, we would change the appropriate sections to cater for those interested in donating.

Filters to find your charities
When looking for charities, besides searching for them directly, you can filter them based on location, categories and income/size.
Once you've done that, you will be shown a list of charities that fit your criteria.

Donating process setup
Donating process setup
Setting up the donating options is triggered by favouriting a charity - the chances of you liking a charity and wanting to find out more about it and then potentially donate to it are high. Once you've started, you will go through a 4 step setup process.
Setting up the donating options is triggered by favouriting a charity - the chances of you liking a charity and wanting to find out more about it and then potentially donate to it are high. Once you've started, you will go through a 4 step setup process.
You need to set a limit and a target and decide how much of the target you want to go to each charity. If you have one charity, the entire target sum will go to it. After that you're given a few donating options. Most of them are based on sole transactions. After choosing these, you confirm the information is correct and voila, Donations is all setup.

Donating options
The most common donating options are the ones above. One of the use cases for Donations is buying a coffee for £1.80 and donating the 20p through Donate the Difference.

Or setting up Guilty Pleasures for a minimum spend of £100 with 2% of the transaction value, in case you feel remorseful for splurging in a certain Spending Pot.

Just like in JamJars, you get pie charts for Donating Options, and Charities, making it possible to see how much you donated in total and how much went to each charity you picked.

You can filter the feed and check out all news and updates of your favourite charities, the Donating Options, the appropriate transactions or all of them together.

When a tragedy unfortunately happens in the world, you are kept in the loop and even asked to help. You can choose the charity you want to donate to in the urgent appeal or react to the first one that pops up on the home screen.

At the end of the day, when the payments are processed by your bank, you can see new data on how much you donated on that day and through what means.
Just like JamJars, Donations can be setup on any account that has some money movement.
